Matt was messing about with my wireless setting on the desktop, although this is not wireless, but has an Orange Gigaset box, but the two laptops are & wont connect now! PLease can anyone tell me where the key is . Thanks

open internet explorer
log on to your router,
(you might need to plug the router into your pc to access it if its not connecting to it)
normally 192.168.1.1

the network key is under the wireless settings.

Have you been locked out of your router now then ?

The router should have a reset button, you might be able to reset factory defaults by holding the button for 30 seconds.
You will need the manual to find the default password - possibly 1234 or 0000

Be ready to completely rebuild the router configuration if you do that. Its a bit of a sledge hammer fix (not actually a fix either)...

well once you get back into the router, look for the wireless security settings
in there it will say something like
WEP
WPA
PSK

I normally use WPA and then set the WPA shared key (network key) to my own password.

user root
password admin

Matt thinks he allowed his phone to connect to my wifi but stopped my two laptops!!!!!! Bit of a worry....two of us in the family!!!

If you can't get access you need to reset to get the use of default password.

All ok now.Matt had turned the MAC filter on.
