Hi,
I very very quickly stock my EOS on the back of the scope and took a couple of snapps, green is what it looks like in the camera, white is converted, didn't have time to get the webcam on it.
You can clearly see two sunspots and the granulation on the sun's surface :-)

Looks like the kit is a keeper then 8)
Is that full size or a crop Chris ?
Interesting,
What happens when you add a Ha filter?
Just curious.
Mac.
Looking good Chris, nice and crisp
Hi Mick,
It's not full size on the forum, follow the green one and you will get there.
Mac,
You cannot add a nigh time Ha to the system and get it to work, look on cloudynights about it, there's some massive threads.
Fay,
Yes not bad, but it was only a quick effort, I need to fix the focuser and add an electronic one on it as well, then it will be better, also a web cam will be a lot better than a DSLR.
Chris
Very nice!
It might inspire me to buy some solar film as a poor man's substitute ...

Is it anything to do with the passband? A typical Ha filter has a 12nm or 6nm passband. The very expensive ones 3nm. But I think the solar observing ones are a fraction of 1nm.
Hi Mark,
That sounds about right.
Just to prove how un busy the sun was yesterday I found this image (public image). Can't wait for one of them to come around.

So you imaged the quiet half of the sun!

Hi,
No that image is from an older archive during the last cycle nothing to do with this week, have a look at UK Astro imaging Solar and look at Olly's last one, I was there and it was a fantastic set of prominences.
