Post by: Carole on Jan 12, 2011, 14:34:00
Is any-one going to this, it clashes with DSC?

I thought I might go on the Friday.

Carole,

It is probably safer for your purse if you cannot go to Astrofest.  Last year you unexpectedly ended up buying a complete observatory!

Great day at Astrofest. Robert, Julian & friend,  Lee &  Greg there today. Robert & I had carrot cake & coffee & a good chat with Nik Szymanek. Saw Peter Shah & Gordon Haynes. Had a several chats with Gary of Pulsar Domes.

We were there for  quite a while, Brian May, Brian Cox & Patrick were there, but we did not see them. Really crowded when the lectures turned out.

The feet were hurting on the last stretch.

Have you noticed my composure regarding purchases ................................. :o

Oh ok, I have ordered the QSI 583WS. All day I had not made a decision as it is very expensive, looked at the other camera's & really went there not knowing if I would order anything or nor.

It was only having a good chat to Nik, and his friends, that convinced me it would be a good purchase, as they all had one & were very pleased. Does not alter the fact that I am a bit spooked by how much I spent...I will get over it

Flis thinks houses are more important. She is looking at houses, and I'm looking at South facing gardens. ;)

Maybe soon there will be a new scope in a new garden. :D

Ian,

Lets be practical now! You can physically see the garden, but you cannot see the heavens, well not for the last few months anyway, and now with new cameras, observatories and Chris's new scope, other than knitting, gardening seem the next best thing to do at present, and a new one seem a better option than the one I have at present. ;)
