Title: Celestron Nexstar c8se
Post by: Simon E on Sep 15, 2009, 13:44:57
Out of interest, I spoke to Mike at the open day at High Elms at the weekend about imaging with this scope.

So I need to get hold of a Guide Scope, probably going to get something like this

The main problem I have is getting some rings around the Celestron to mount the guide scope.

I have just spoken to "Telescope House" and they reckon they are going to produce some mounts with counter weights in about 6-8 weeks time, just before christmas (Great xmas from the misses I think )

These will fit the complete Nexstar range from 4"-8" versions.

God knows why Celestron didn't do this is the first place, ok this isn't a dedicated Photography scope, but even so it would have been nice to have the option.

So I will have to wait till christmas to use the autoguide, with piggyback mounted second scope.

On a happy note, I did get a nice new Celestron dew shield, 3x barlow and a RS232 to remote control the scope, delivered yesterday. :D

Just need some more cloudless nights....... right..... :o
