Title: BAA Instruments and Imaging meeting

A meeting of the Section will be held at the headquarters of Northamptonshire Natural History Society, the Humfrey Rooms, Castilian Terrace, Northampton, on Saturday, 16 August 2003, 11.00 am to 6.00 pm (doors open, 9.30). Speakers include:

Bob Marriott : Director's report
Kevin Smith : Solar imaging in H-alpha, calcium and white light
Martin Taylor : Imaging with a webcam
Christopher Taylor and David Briley : Hanwell Observatory
Ron Arbour : Discoveries while you sleep
Nick James : Cometary photometry
Bob Marriott : A visit to Birr

There will be other short contributions and discussion, and members are invited to bring slides, overheads, videos, disks and/or laptops, as all media can be accommodated. Space is also available for exhibition material and equipment. Entrance: £5 (booking not required), to include lunch - bread, cheese, assorted groceries, wine, ale, tea, coffee. Details are included on the Meetings page of the Section web site.

Recent additions to the web site include seventeen book reviews, several members' instruments and observatories, and images by Nik Szymanek, Kevin Smith, Martin Taylor and Tom Boles. The site now consists of 79 pages. Further contributions will be welcomed.
