Title: LDN 1251 and LDN1235 Anglerfish and Shark Nebulae
Post by: Carole on Sep 16, 2020, 21:00:22
I am calling this The Fish Nebulae as there are two fish in it.

Have spent a couple of days at Cairds first time in 2020.  Was on my own, but an unknown Aussie Astronomer turned up who had the same camping Observatory as me.  He slept in his while I slept in the Glamping POD.

Anyway, I managed two half nights on this target, fog stopped play the first night.

Somewhat ambitious for my Samyang lens and the faintness of the targets.

Lum 30 x 600 5 hours
RGB 5 x 300 each filter 25mins each
total imaging time 6 hours 15 mins

Atik460EX and EFW Baader filters
Samyang lens 135mm F2.8

Oh what a great field of view!  Two fish indeed - maybe the School nebula?
Well done on some very faint objects!

Thanks Roberto, Must try the Anglerfish with my new Esprit from a dark location, if ever my focal reducer arrives.
