Heather Couper: Broadcaster and astronomer dies at 70

Dr Couper appeared on the BBC's Blue Peter and The Sky At Night programmes, as well as presenting and producing acclaimed science documentaries.
She also hosted radio series including the BBC World Service's long-running Seeing Stars and BBC Radio 4's Cosmic Quest and Starwatch.
Professor Brian Cox said "she was one of the pioneers in bringing astronomy to everyone, including me".

She certainly doesnt look 70 , on most of the pictures that come up on a google search , remember her on various programs.

How Sad!  One of the pioneer TV communicators in taking astronomy to the people and no doubt helped many get started.  Always watchable with an energy that made you want to be involved.

She was the speaker at the OAS meeting in January 1981, and again at the tenth anniversary.
