Title: WR134 in Cygnus
Post by: Carole on Dec 06, 2019, 18:44:34
Not one of my better images, and definitely one to re-do in dark skies.  The blue flash was exceeding difficult to extract and the entire processing was extremely difficult.

I did 3 images over the last few days, because of positioning.  This target needed to be done early before it set, and took it before I could actually reach The Pumpkin target over the top of my POD dome even with the PZT.

The Bogeyman had to be done after it appeared around the houses but before it disappeared behind the tree, so rather than waste rare clear skies I ended up doing 3 images, dotting in between each other's availability.  This the reason for 3 images rather than being able to concentrate on one with lots of data.

Anyway, back to the image in hand:

WR134 in Cygnus.
Low for this time of the year, and was sinking fast.  Definitely one to repeat in dark skies.

Ha 20 x 600 Baader 3nm
Oiii 8 x 300 + 4 x 900 + 5 x 600 Baader 8.5 nm
RGB (for stars) 4 x 150secs binned in all channels.
Mapped as HOO with RGB stars overlaid.

Total 6 hours 20 minutes

It looks very good to me Carole!  I like the framing also.

Thanks Roberto, would love to do this one in a dark location.

A very interesting image, considering the difficulty processing, it looks good.

Thanks Noel, I have just re-done it and like the 2nd process better.
