Title: LBN 438 in Lacerta from Petts Wood
Post by: Roberto on Sep 28, 2019, 14:34:05
Another one taken in September either side of the full Moon.

Pretty tough object from London. Beautiful area in Lacerta. The background is pretty red but this is natural as the nebula gets its illumination from interstellar radiation known as Extended Red Emission (ERE).

For a proper shot of this area see Bart Delsaert's version: https://delsaert.com/2018/09/18/colourful-lbn-438/

Or Jim Thommes': http://jthommes.com/Astro/LBN438.htm

See the annotated version in Astrobin for the many background galaxies towards the north of the frame:

Terrific star field behind, and the galaxies are wonderful.
Well done.

Sorry, been away at Kelling, only just seen this.

You do like your dark nebula which are a real challenge from your location, and this one has turned out as great as those before it.

Beautiful star field as usual.

Very nicely composed.  I love the star colours - you seem to get them just right.
