Title: The Ring Nebula M57 22 June 2019
Post by: The Thing on Jun 23, 2019, 15:19:05
Quick grab M57 for a little summers entertainment. The galaxy is IC1296.

Exposure time was 41m 40s using my old 8" LX90 with Baader Alan Gee II  Telekompressor, ASI29MC Pro (Gain 121 Exposure 250s Offset 4 Temp -15c). Seeing was all over the place.

This a centre crop to exclude all the extraneous stars and it's full size, no binning or resampling. Stacked in DSS 4.2.0 Beta 2 (with Libraw with no calibration frames whatsoever. and processed in StarTools, though the SN was so high even with just 12 lights it hardly needed stretching.

P.S. I have just tried DSS 4.2.0 Beta 3 and it sems to be superior, I know they have been tweaking how it does colour as DSS was doing 'funny' things apparently. This is still the Beta 2 version as it's not that different.
