Title: Gravitational Waves - A Catalogue of Events and a Great Video
Post by: Roy on Dec 24, 2018, 20:05:52
There's a lot of new information on the LIGO Website:

https://www.ligo.org/news.php (https://www.ligo.org/news.php)

which now includes a catalogue of black hole and neutron star mergers with computer simulations of each event. In particular there is a really good video covering GW170817 the neutron star merger and the science that was carried out:

What I found truly fantastic was at about 3:45 in the video there is a periodic table of elements up to uranium showing what type of astronomical event created them.
