Title: Cancellation of Observing Evening and Society General Meeting 28/2/2018
Post by: Hugh on Feb 25, 2018, 15:18:38
Dear Society Colleagues

Please note that the Committee have cancelled both the Observing Evening (27/2/2018) and Society General Meeting and AGM (28/2/2018) due to the potential extreme weather conditions forecast for this week.

As well as possibility of snow and ice, the 'feels like' temperature will be very low and not conducive to health and general well being.  For instance, the 'feels like' temperature for Wednesday 28th at 1800 is forecast as -10C!

We apologise for any confusion this may cause but have taken this decision early in order to warn everyone as soon as possible.

The Observing Evening will now fall to the next scheduled meeting and the AGM will be held as the first part of the Society General Meeting in March.

If you have contact with any other society member, could I ask you to make sure that they are aware of these cancellations.

Thanks you in anticipation.

Best

Hugh Alford
Vice-Chair

Message received and probably a wise decision.
