Title: Cairds this weekend 17 - 19th
Post by: Carole on Nov 13, 2017, 08:56:16
The forecast is for clear (with a bit of cloud Friday evening), but with temperatures at 4 & 5 degrees and a moderate breeze at 6 m/s.

I am still learning what breezes are acceptable for imaging, and I think that is probably a bit too breezy, and for ourselves will probably add to the chill factor rather too much to be comfortable.

But who is up for it if the breeze forecast drops?

Roger and I am on standby.

Dave T and I have decided not to go as the forecasts are varied after 2am and I need clear after 2am to get my target.  Just in case any one was thinking of joining us.

I would image in 6m/s as long is it was fairly steady, it's gusts that wreck subs (and planes, dew, satellites, torches, meteors, car headlamps, camp fires, flexure, focus slip, tripod sinking in soggy fields ... a lot to fight!)

Not forgetting light pollution if you're imaging from home.
