Title: Meade ETX 90
Post by: StephenH on May 06, 2017, 11:43:25
I would like to thank the person I asked advice to for buying a Telescope. I had come along to the last meeting with a list of three Telescopes I was planning to buy from Amazon. I was told to never buy a Telescope from Amazon as delicate items might not work upon arrival and instead to go the Telescope House near Lingfield. We went yesterday and chose the Meade ETX 90 which Kiran explained was a good first telescope. It is computerised with 30,000 targets on a handset and is mounted on a strong tripod.  Just waiting for a clear night.

Whilst there another customer came in and said he had a big problem. His wife had bought him a telescope through Amazon and it was not complete. As it was bought at a discount Amazon were unable to get him the required part. Kiran turned to me and told me your Astronomical Society has advised you correctly, I agree

Yes, it's always best to go to a proper astro dealer.  Glad some-one helped.
