Title: Lack of com port options for alignmaster
Post by: Carole on Apr 01, 2017, 10:06:08
Further to last night's post.  I tried to use alignmaster on my HEQ5, but alignmaster only gives me the option of 4 ports.

In device manager the device is coming up on port 8.

I know you can delete com ports (if I can find the link to the instructions on here somewhere), but since I don't really understand what I am doing, I don't want to delete anything that will mess up my other kit.

Other kit =
1. Electronic filter wheel running on USB
2. Atik camera running on USB
3. Guide camera running on USB.

I don't currently use EQMod but if I wanted to it would go into the same port as Alignmaster using the same cable.  I only have 3 USBs and nothing works properly in a Hub, which is partly why I don't use EQMod, am quite happy with the handset.

I only attempted to use EQMod once when the mount was new, and now I remember why I never used it.

You can redirect items to other com ports if one of them only works on one already taken up

well I have not done it for a long time.

go into device manager and click on com ports. There is another tab in there that you can click on and change what is connected to what port. my Philips webcam would only work from a certain port, 12 or 13, and something else used to use it so I moved it. i have done it a few times in the past.

I have not got anything plugged in at the moment, so cant do a demo
