Title: EQ Polarscope Viewer
Post by: Roy on Jan 25, 2016, 16:41:52
For anyone who uses the EQ polarscope for polar alignment this might be of interest: I was looking through the Teleskop Service Website when quite by chance I saw this (there is another image in the Gallery under 'Observing Kit')......

.....so no more aching necks, muddy knees and embarrassment as I struggle to look up the polarscope of our HEQ5 then try and stand up again, for me any more.  8)

What's nice is that the viewer can rotate to any angle, as well as showing a 1.25x or 2.5x magnified view.

I was looking at those myself in the past, but they are not cheap, how much was this Roy?

To be honest, you'd think the manufacturers could make the eyepiece 1.25" so you could attach a normal diagonal to it.   They think of all the fancy stuff but the one thing that can be a real pain they ignore.

The price as of today is about £90, but I'm not exactly sure what I paid as the pound has dropped against the Euro in the past week or so and I also bought one of the cable strain relief devices to fit on the back of my lodestar at the same time.
