Cairds can accommodate us this month (but can't in July and August), but the POD is not available this time.
Who is interested?
Carole
Me
And me
Damnation, not back in Blighty until the 27th.
Not me I'm afraid, in Paris.
I might try & pop down for a visit - maybe do a star trail or the like... probs wouldn't stay though.. John
I plan to be there.

I've just realised I won't even be in the country that weekend. So unfortunately I won't be able to make it after all :!
Mark

John might pop in
Ivor/Kenny (so I have been told)

I am in advanced negotiations wit the Mrs, its her birthday that weekend but I might be able to wangle a couple of nights away. Would I need to pre-book, or just turn up on the Friday?
if its the same as previous, carole will let cairds know how many want to go,
roger

I've given the figures to Cairds to give them a rough idea of numbers. He says there are 3 caravans besides us on site and no children.
Carole
Something to watch for/photograph on Saturday evening, this is a screen shot from Stellarium, but the Moon will be a thin crescent:

I can see the Beehive cluster (M44) behind the tree as well ;-)
Might not be dark enough but we can give it a try.

Yes, might not be.
Carole
Hmmm just taken a look at the weather forecast, currently looks like no clear skies, except maybe for those going on Thursday.

I had SQM 20.8 from midnight until 2am this morning (which is my usual reading). So that's still pretty dark - even though "officially" it is astronomical twilight.
Mark
Weather forecasts are not looking good for Friday and Saturday, clouds and some rain on Saturday possibly. I won't be coming unless there is a last minute change for weather forecast as I have other things I have put off doing because of DSC.
Carole
I wont be going either , Saturdays' weather made my decision for me.
Roger
Friday is looking better, but Saturday still looks grim. So I am probably coming on Friday and will see what the forecast is for Saturday.

Not sure where you are getting that forecast from. I see more cloud and a higher chance of rain.
Sorry everyone but due to the uncertainty with the weather this weekend I have decided not to go.

This is the site I always use, it's only let me down twice in about 5 years.

Where is every-one else looking?
If it's really not going to be even one clear night then no point in going?
Carole
Hmmm, this one is saying completely the opposite:
http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/forecast/u1063fdwy#?fcTime=1434672000
Who else is going regardless?
Carole
Such a shame
The various weather sites still give conflicting results ranging from 0% - 100%, I think I'll hold on my decision until this afternoon.
The forecasts are definitely getting worse with the probability of rain tomorrow increasing.
Well I have decided not to come.
I have informed Pete at Cairds, that most people have cried off but there could still be one or two who decide to come regardless - just in case any-one decides to go anyway. He quite understands as this has been our arrangement with him from the outset.
Shame, hopefully better luck next month which will be Running Water hopefully, if I can get Len to actually reply to my E Mail.
Carole
The absence of replies I assume no one is going?
