Post by: smuudge on Jan 30, 2015, 14:38:04
Hi i have posted here before but now officially a telescope owner! have yet to unpack it (Celestron 130SLT) and was hoping to do that tonight and try some star gazing but low and behold the weather is not looking good! I will no doubt be back for advice in the near future! Clear Skies as they say! Thanks Ben.

Congratulations on your new telescope.  Unfortunately the buying of new kit always seems to co-incide with poor weather.

I think you shouldn't shield smuudge from the facts Carole ;) New telescopes are effects are designed for it to be used indoors for several weeks before the weather improves enough to let the user take it outside. This allows familiarisation, learning and RTFM to occur 'cos your sure won't see stars through them thar clouds!
