This was taken from a place called Point Clark, on the shore of Lake Huron, one of the Great Lakes. I was really hoping to see the eclipsed Sun sink into the lake, but a band of clouds stopped me.
Still, it was very worthwhile. The eclipse started at 5:36pm local time (21:36GMT) and should have ended at sunset, 6:26pm. There were two banks of clouds low on the horizon, and the picture below was taken as the Sun was between the two. The sun went into the clouds about 5 minutes before sunset.

..and that big sunspot group, too; makes for a much more interesting partial eclipse image. :)
Ditto to Rick's comments. Great image Roger.
Shame about the clouds.

Is anyone going to the Faroes for the 2015 total eclipse?
I can't afford to go to that one, instead I'll be heading into the US for the August 2017, event.
The last time I stood in the Moons umbra was in 1991 for almost 7 minutes...it's been too long.
