Title: Bubble work in progress
Post by: RobertM on Aug 05, 2014, 22:16:12
Still a bit to do with this so it's a very rough process for now...

This is with to 250mm RC at f/8 guided with an OAG.

Nice data and good image scale.  That has lots of potential!

A couple of years ago you would have been very happy with this Robert, and we would have all been amazed and delighted (and still are). Looks like the bubble is going to burst on the left!

Is this cropped or have you cured the gremlins?

Clouds allowing I'll process properly once I have enough data.

It's not cropped Duncan but it is binned 2x2 for noise reduction.  I only replaced the faulty part this evening (the grease only arrived today) so we'll see whether the gremlins are cured.

This is the result after adding some more data and extra processing.

This was the result of 22 x 20 mins with a 5nm Ha filter on the RC10 at f/8 with SXVR-H694 guided using an OAG.

Wow - that's a fantastic Bubble - I've never seen so much detail in it.  It vaguely resembles a distorted moon with craters and rays.

Great improvement Robert, no wonder you wanted to update the one for the Calendar.

Can you let me have a good quality file please.

Thanks

Carole

Robert, that is fantastic. I totally agree with Marks comment I have never seen such close up detail in the bubble...you can really zoom in on it..Really great image and nicely processed.

Of course Fay, you know me...  The sharky thing in the bubble has quite a bit of detail but I wasn't able to draw that out and keep the rest of the image balanced.  Also the collimation is a tad off, which you will see if you look at moderately bright stars closely.

Hi Robert, been checking the detail in your bubble with today's APOD http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/image/1410/couleurV8michaud.jpg (http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/image/1410/couleurV8michaud.jpg) & I reckon you have as much if not more detail.. John
