Title: Another Milky Way Wide'ish field taken at Marks
Post by: RobertM on May 27, 2014, 21:51:12
Just realised I haven't posted an image in a while so that spurred me on process something.

Unmodded EOSM (Tragic Lantern firmware) with EF-M 11-22 STM lens at 11mm f/4.0
6 x 180s @ ISO 1600
iOptron Skytracker
Processed in PixInsight

Still a bit too much gradient but there you go.

A warty (nearly) full size version with dodgy stars: https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3719/14283739602_6451063b27_k.jpg (https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3719/14283739602_6451063b27_k.jpg)

That reminds me that I have a few hours of Milky Way data I took last year or the year before.  The stacking failed because atmospheric refraction caused a differential compression of the bottom end near the horizon. I've never done anything with the data since - each frame needs individual stretching before stacking.
