Title: Rotating roof automation
Post by: Ivor on Feb 15, 2014, 13:24:04
I'm in the early stages of planning my Observatory and a ROR isn't an option so I've got my eye on a dome like solution which leaves me with the challenging task of automating the rotating roof. I have been searching the web looking for various solutions to automate and I've not really found a solution I'm happy with.
I've found the LesveDome driver http://www.dppobservatory.net/DomeAutom ... Driver.php which has potentially but I'm concerned about long term support as the owner is already talking about support after his demise.

QuoteLong term issues.
In the long term, when LesveDome driver will be obsolete and no more supported, I commit myself to release a last revision without registration key. But it's still possible that something wrong happens to me! To cope this issue, each time a new revision is released, a copy without registration key is deposited to my trustee friend Max Mirot maxmirot@charter.net In this worst case Max has accepted to release it on the Yahoo LesveDome group.

Has anyone automated a dome in the club or seen an example?

I've joined the a couple of related yahoo groups so I'll be looking through them over the weekend.
