Title: NGC2264 - The Cone Nebula - Image 4 - Palud-Sur-Verdon
Post by: JohnP on Oct 18, 2013, 22:03:06
OK - this is my least favourite of the images I took in France. It is slightly out of focus so stars a bit blobby. I took this after the Cave nebula on the same freezing cold windy night. I didn't start it till about 4.30am so my 'head & hands' weren't in any state to determine focus (must get myself an autofocuser).. Also only had enough time to get 8 X 600secs before sky started to brighten - I packed up at 6.10am.... Again image a bit too noisy due to pushing hard as limited data.. I wasn't going to post this but after processing came out a bit better than I thought it would.. Image details ED80 + Atik314L+, 7nm Ha filter, 8 X 10 min subs. Thks go to Robert on this one for assisting me in locating & aligning object...

I think this is a tough target anyway but it definitely needs more data.

John I like this image, but it would look better with some colour.
