Well I thought i'd be the first to take a (crappy) photo of the new Nova in Delphinus so here it is. It's gone past its brightest and is dimming now. Apparently it is now around Mag 5.0
The sky was washed out with a full moon nearby and there were clouds all over the place so the quality is terrible but it did the job anyway, the Nova is just about visible. It's not very exciting I'm afraid.

Seriously though, Nice capture & well done on getting it.. Was this just a single shot? What exposure etc...
yeah this is just a single shot. It looked OK on my desktop screen but I can barely see it on my laptop screen. I should stretch it more. I did a whole load of 30 second shots but haven't stacked them yet. Not sure they will work anyway as clouds were constantly scudding across the frames. This was a rare one with no clouds but the whole sky was washed out with the moonlight.
I'll take another in a few weeks time when it's gone so I can compare them.
Hmm... Not sure why the stars have come out like tiny pinholes on this image. All I did was adjust levels. Maybe I should just post up the originals.
Agreed it doesn't have much artistic merit but at least you bothered to go out and capture it.
