Title: Possible re-interpretation of expanding universe

A (pre-release and yet to be peer-reviewed) paper suggests that red-shift could be caused by atoms gaining mass and not by an inflating universe:

This would make furthest (and therefore oldest) galaxies appear more red-shifted compared with nearby ones.
