Title: Strange Star Trails from last nights imaging
Post by: The Thing on Jun 04, 2013, 21:47:10
The scope reached it's EQMOD limit and stopped while APT kept taking shots. I would expect the star trails to be parallel as the earth rotates and the stars move past the camera... Any explanations welcome!

It may be due to the wind.

You need to be actually logged onto the gallery for that image link to work.

Looks like RA has frozen (causing the star trailing) but there is still activity of some sort taking place in the DEC direction.

You can only view that album if you are logged into the gallery. I've changed the image link to a direct one, and now the image itself (or the reduced-size version) should be visible in the top post.

It's a long time since I last posted in the Gallery.
