Title: M3
Post by: julian on May 20, 2013, 21:31:05
Finally got round to processing M3 at DSC on the  6th April 2013.
Forgot to do any calibration images due to the cold, the temperature of which was -7.5c
but I did drink some alcohol (lots of)  to keep warm.
Set up:
SW 190MN, self modified cooled Canon 450D argon filled camera set to 0c, Guiding QHY5 PHD, EQ6 pro mount.
24 images at 120 Sec, 42 images at 60 Sec, 49 images at  30 Sec. Total time 1Hr 36min 30 sec.

That's rather nice. Don't suppose the camera needed cooling much if ambient was -7.5c! The backgrounds a bit dark on my monitor but on teh full size version I can see plenty of the dimmer stars in the glob.

BTW Strange sky writing you've captured as well...

Lovely star colours but maybe the focus is a tad soft?

That was certainly a very cold night - I remember it well!
