Title: Downloads folder XP
Post by: Fay on Nov 13, 2012, 10:26:19
When you download something & it first goes into the above folder, once you have opened the download, can it be deleted from the download folder. I have about 200 in the folder & am wondering if i can delete them all

Thanks

Yes, I burn the important ones onto a DVD so I've got them to hand when there are problems. It also helps you reflect on what you've installed and you will probably get rid of a few applications.

Definitely keep safe (i.e. external backup) all the downloads of useful software.  Then they can be re-installed if you change PC.  You can't always re-download them - especially if a free piece of software suddenly becomes "purchase only" and the author removes all the previous free versions.
