As most of you know I purchased Carole's Atik314L+ a month or so ago.. I've been longing after one of these for ages so well chuffed at long last...
Anyway after visiting everyone Friday night down at the UODSC I thought I would give it first light I was going to pop down again on Saturday but unfortunately had to be in work early on Sunday which kinda ruined those plans. Anyway, thought I'd give Bromley's crappy skies a go. After messing around for a few hours fitting the new camera & a new focuser to my ED80 (& having to find focus again for the OAG.. grrr...) eventually got round to imaging. Manual pushed to m13 & then ran off 18 X 300Secs whilst I watched Matrix (again) on TV..
Result is below (I am not even sure what filter I had in - Need to check) - Did flats the next day. There are a few hot pixels but as I now have luxury of setpoint cooling I can run off some 5mins, -10degC darks at my leisure ;-) Also slight gradient but can sort that out later...
Have to same I'm impressed with camera - very easy to use - low noise - sensitive - Nice FOV with ED80 & easy to process (I think this is the quickest I have ever processed an image) Really looking to trying again sometime soon. I have uploaded full size as I am just liking ALL those pixels (unlike the 640 X 480 on my Atik 16ic)...
Cheers, John.
