anyone know of a supplier of US Postal Service cardboard boxes? Quite clearly the spectroscope won't work if it's any other sort.

If I get time I'll have a go.

Heh! All the USPS packing boxes I've got were book-shaped. Maybe an order of cheap eyepieces from the US would come in a suitable box?

I have one, me SAC8 came in it.  I can bring it along to the next meeting if you like.  Or we could use a UK Postal box, but would there be an issue with the metric to imperial conversion?

I remember at school we did something like this using a prism, a black pastic box, some white card, a small slit and a camera.  Enough about biology.

What would be really good would be to get this working on a telescope so we could measure the output of some other stars rather than ours.  Any ideas?

Maybe we should have a Bodgeit and Scarper award for astronomical instruments.
