Paul, this image was clearly taken using a shaving mirror and a box brownie. I would expect the Hayes Observatory to surpass it.

I was thinking about getting my Zenit out and the old m42 3 x extender and having a go next to the flood lights.

too easy. wait for monsoon rain, thick clouds and a healthy dose of daylight. This astrophotography is just too easy.
