As well as looking at the TV coverage for this event, is it worth making an effort to go to one of the many other events being organised around the same time? Taking into account my 'newbie' status, lack of success at being able to see anything recently 'cos of the weather, I thought a trip to Romney Marsh Visitor Centre and/or The Langton Star Centre, both of whom are hosting events, may be worthwhile. Herstmonceaux is also hosting an event.
Or is it best to stay in my comfy chair in front of the telly with me feet up?
Vera
Hi Vera, I have a feeling that these events are designed for introducing newbies and you would be ideal candidates.

Hi there and Happy New Year. My film has been signed off and looks great apparently and is definitely made it to the show. Not sure which night of the 3 it's going out but if I find out I will let you all know. Can't wait.
See you all soon
Kylee
Hi Kylee,
I'm really looking forward to seeing it.
Mark
Brilliant, Kylee. We are really looking forward to seeing it and I will record it somehow, either on a disc or a videotape.... remember those?? I don`t have the hard-drive facility on any of my stuff..... aaaah, shame, they all cried !!!
Anyway, very well done. Not bad for a newbie, huh ;)
Rug and Dose.
You are funny Doug. Say Hi to Rose too...Happy New Year and see you soon :D
Hello again
BBC news contacted me today, they had been given my details by the filming crew. I have been interviewed today for an article in Tuesdays BBC news magazine online on the news website. I did mention the OAS to try and get a plug so fingers crossed we will get a mention. I don't know what's happening at the moment but it's really exciting.
Here is a link to the website for Tuesday :D Kylee

Sounds as if some congratulations are in order Kylee. I'll "record" all three nights anyway so sure to enjoy your film whichever day it's scheduled.
Hope the skies are going to clear a bit. Well, I was warned that having astronomy as a hobby in the UK was sometimes a bit of a heavy duty bummer. I'm beginning to understand why. :(
Vera
Thanks for the plug Kylee :D

Yep - the UK is a bad place to do astronomy :-(
If it's not the weather playing up then it's the light pollution :-( :-(
If it's not the light pollution, it's the jet stream causing atmospheric turbulence :-( :-( :-(
Then there's all the usual technical problems with the kit :-( :-( :-( :-(
:o :o :o :o :o
Well, I entered the link tonight and was quite shocked at what confronted me, and want to know what this has to do with astronomy, unless it is is different documentary that was filmed.

Hmmm... I think the link you want is http://www.bbc.co.uk/stargazing/
Hahaha....that link is the right one it's just that you should use it on Tuesday next week. Just posted it so you will all know where to look. This is a separate interview with the news team...not the filming for Stargazing
Hope that sorts out the confusion
Kylee :D
Obviously Tony, what Kylee is trying to say is, "I hope you found the link I posted of some use in dealing with your issues".
She's a lot more subtle than most of us here ;) :P

But the people are really nice :P :P :P :P
Got them highlighted to watch, Kylee!
Fay
I'm obviously not subtle enough Ian!!!!!
Hope it helped Tony ;)
Kylee,
Is that you appearing momentarily, 5 seconds into the trailer:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00n3s0j
I also saw it on BBC4, just after "Sky at Night"
Mark
Just watched that trailer. Who would gaze at the stars whilst standing in front of their car with its headlights on?
all the people on that trailer looked like actors
Unfortunately it's not me...won't be long though
Hi Kylee,
Just seen you on the telly, and so now you are famous, does your signature now cost more on ebay? ;)
Tony G
That was so strange seeing myself!!!! OOOOOMMMMGGGGG!!!!!!!!! What an amazing experience it was though
Hi Kylee,
It was good to see you on the TV - it must be a weird experience - until you're used to it, like Fay, that is!
Looks like you had a good time during filming and it's always good to spread the message about the blight of light pollution.
Mark
Kylee's on the news, Kylee's on the news :-)

Thanks for posting that Ian..I was just about to try..probably would have failed so I'm glad you did it. I'm just overwhelmed with it at the moment. Seeing myself on Stargazing Live was so amazing. I'm just sad it's over now.
I did get another email from a producer in Manchester with the Beeb and he wants to come and do some filming with me next Wednesday for yet another film!! Something for BBC Learning.
Today Dartford.......tomorrow Hollywood!!!! I wish
See you all soon ;)
Well..... how much are you asking for the autographs these days, Kylee???? And very well done; had to watch you on video as we had a Ctte meeting that evening. Photogenic or what!!!
In the Maily Dail today there is an article stating that telescope sales have rocketed up to 400%...it being called the "Cox effect". Does this mean that we will have a huge new influx of members and we willhave to hire out the Festival Hall for meetings?? :o
Doug.
Doug, does that mean we all have cox envy now?
   what are you lot like!
Quotetelescope sales have rocketed up to 400%...
Last year after SG Live there was apparently a "run" on Astro kit, and all the regular astronomers suddenly found everything was out of stock.
I've watch the first two episodes, I bet that took loads of "takes" Kylee, I used to do "walk on work" years ago and remember that well.
