Title: First light and a couple of planetaries
Post by: Whitters on Jun 20, 2004, 07:20:00
The adaptor for the 800mm lens finaly arrived. Finding the objects is pretty tough, especially as I cant fit a decent finder. I'm having to use a BC&F red dot reflex finder then star hop to the object I'm after. But here goes a couple of seven minute integrations taken in the twiloght last night.

See how BIG M27 is, If you blow up the M57 image you can see the central star and it's optical companion within the ring. I like this new lens and cant wait for the night to return.

Hi Paul,

The frame quality and clarity of the objects and stars is exceptional, it makes you think why anyone would pay £1,000's for a telescopewhen you can get decent photographic lenses for a few £100'd.

Did you do these with the Losmandy or the old mount?

That was the old mount again.

Well, it looks ok for the old mount then.

Very impressed.
