Title: NASA'S Glory Satellite Fails To Reach Orbit
Post by: Rick on Mar 04, 2011, 14:08:15
NASA's Glory (http://glory.giss.nasa.gov/) spacecraft launched aboard a Taurus XL rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California Friday at 5:09:45 a.m. EST failed to reach orbit.

Telemetry indicated the fairing, the protective shell atop the Taurus XL rocket, did not separate as expected about three minutes after launch.

This launch also carried three CubeSats (http://www.scientificcomputing.com/news-DS-NASA-Cues-up-CubeSats-for-Glory-Launch-012910.aspx), all of which are presumably somewhere in the Pacific...

...and some detail about the launch (http://blogs.howstuffworks.com/2011/03/04/yesterdays-death-of-the-nasas-glory-satellite-cubesat-status-unknown/).
