Hi,
Was doing some reading for a new quick lens for my SLR and bumped into this little baby, looks like a great option for both normal SLR and Astro work.

And they are £225

Yep but I think you get what you pay for to a certain extent. I'm sure it would be fine for terrestrial but I'm not sure it's sharp enough in the corners for Astro use...
I've been doing a lot of research on 85mm lenses and if you have a Canon camera then the 85mm f1.8 is a really good option, even though it needs stopping down for astro work, and gets very good reviews. Not sure about the Nikon equivalent though a friend is very pleased with his. There is the Canon 85 f/1.2 but that's ten times the price :(
Can't argue with £225 though and it get's decent enough reviews. If you want f/1.4 @85mm then there isn't much choice so it'll tempt a lot of people !
Will you give it a go ?
btw, Jacobs do lens hire and if you decide to buy that type of lens from them then the hire cost is refunded.

I still have my 8" F4 to sort out so its unlikely I will try it.
