Title: 15.5 hour exposure!
Post by: A.S.I.G.N_Baz on May 13, 2010, 08:47:40
Here's an image I got after five consecutive nights of capture trough my telescope on a single object this week (Total 15.5 hours) and two nights of processing.

Name - M20 Trifid Nebula
Type - Emission (red), reflection (blue) and dark (dense molecular clouds(dust))
Distance - 7,600 light years away
Location - Sagittarius (still in our galaxy)

Have a great day while you ponder the enormity of it all.

Baz.

Hi Baz,

I must admit it would be fantastic to get 15 hours over three nights here to do imaging, so I'm in envy of that.

Putting on my astro photographers hat on I have to say there is a lot of coma on the image, what kit are you using?

Chris

Stunning colours in that image Baz.  I like it a lot.  What scope/camera were you using?

Thanks Chris and Mark. I added my gear to my signature.

I think I need a field flattener.

Baz,
