Title: Mars 31 Jan 2010
Post by: MarkS on Feb 02, 2010, 06:34:04

Another try at Mars - this time the seeing was very good for short periods.

Philips SPC900 webcam on Celestron C11 using eyepiece projection from a 15mm eyepiece.  This gave an effective focal ratio of around F60.

Remember, at his opposition, Mars is only 14 arcsec in diameter.

Both your Mars images are very good, but I think I like this one best.

For such a tiny target you've pulled out a surprising amount of detail there Mark. really nice.
