A mysterious light display appearing over Norway last night has left thousands of residents in the north of the country baffled. The phenomenon began when what appeared to be a blue light seemed to soar up from behind a mountain. It stopped mid-air, then began to circulate.

[Later Edit] There are more pictures on Slashdot. Barents Observer reports that nearby shipping lanes were closed and remain closed until 15 Dec for test firings.
Oi where's the link :-?
Can't find reference to barents observer or norway lights on slashdot :(
I reckon it's weather experiments.
But Axel Rose reckons it's a projector - so that's good enough for me
Looks computer generated to me. I'd say some hoaxers got their hands on a digital projector and fitted a very powerful lamp to it.

If the Russians are admitting a failed missile test, it's got to be something far more sinister
Did you notice the alleged rocket was made by MIT

What's MIT, Russia's answer to 'Men in Black', 'Men in Tangerine' :D

Judging by the way the missile behaved I'd say... 'Men In Toxicated' - probably been having too much Vodka for lunch......
