Title: Big, Bigger, Biggest
Post by: MarkS on Oct 30, 2009, 21:42:08

Just watched my recording from last night "Big, Bigger, Biggest" on Channel 5 about the Large Binocular Telescope.  Nothing we didn't already know, but it did have good explanations of all the typical problems we imagers face.  I kept saying to Dee "Oh, and that's another problem that I have to deal with all the time!"

The bit about keeping mirrors cool was interesting. Anyone tried strapping a peltier to the inside of an SCT? Could be a quick cool down solution for those pesky internal air currents.
