Post by: Whitters on Mar 28, 2009, 15:23:01
BAA electronic bulletin No. 00396 -- http://www.britastro.org/

Martin Male has just advised me of this successful inititive.

Dark Sky Scotland has announced the world's first two Dark Sky Discovery Sites. I'd be very grateful if you could circulate this news below to your UK members and networks. This is the culmination of the DSS winter programme and another signpost to what can achieve with the UK programme this year.

There is a link to the news item on the DSS homepage, from which there is a link to the full press release.  www.darkskyscotland.org.uk.

For fuller details of the DSDS guidelines: http://www.darkskyscotland.org.uk/snhproject/index.html (http://www.darkskyscotland.org.uk/snhproject/index.html)

We thank both Steve and Martin for their help in making this happen.
