Due to the ongoing problems we have been having with the access at Tuesnoad, with immediate effect ALL future Deep Sky Camps will be held at Woodlands Park Campsite near Headcorn until further notice.

We will discuss tonight but I am considering two sets of Deep Sky Camps and increasing the number of them with one set at a Campsite with proper facilities and the other (Hardcore Deep Sky Camp?!) at another location, perhaps a much darker site, but with less facilities available.

Me I should be able to do Friday and Saturday, have Pikey will travel. Infact I'll be away every month now, I found a really nice campsite in the beacons in wales which has a pub, not lights and things to do in the day as well, I'm going to give that a try.

Actually first and second weekends in April are out as first weekend is a public observing session and second weekend is Easter.

I'm busy in the evening of Sat 21st but it looks like I could do the Friday. The week before is the same but the week after looks clear at the moment.

I E Mailed Woodlands to find out whether I need to book for hook up and this is the reply I got:

"Dear Carole, Thank you for your enquiry.At present we have plenty of sites with hook-up available so should not be a problem. It would be advisable to phone end of next week to see if we can open the camping field as it is very boggy at the moment and we are closed. Look forward to hearing from you, Regards Denice."

It was the "boggy bit" and the fact that the camping site might not be open at all I thought I should bring to every-ones attention.

They are in the centre of the field about 100 yards away. Not too far. You can stay there and set up your kit with the tents. If people don't mind paying a few extra quid we can set up the communal tent too and you can keep it in there.

OK update!! I have just called Woodlands and they are currently closed as the field is 'too boggy'. They say they will probably remain closed until Easter. So, camping is off for this weekend. We will arrange another one later in the year.
