Title: Back from France
Post by: MarkS on Aug 31, 2008, 22:50:42

I'm now back from the Dordogne.  This is the only image I managed to take on the final night - a terrific storm:

Can't complain though - I reckon I got 10 clear nights out of the 15 I spent there (though I didn't do imaging on all 10).

Hope you enjoyed your holiday.

Thanks for bringing back the clear skies though,
I just hope they last. :D

Mac.

Yep another great image -well done - I've always wanted to try & capture lightening myself but camera never seems to be to hand when storms occur.

Out of interest what shutter speed did you use... I uess that you just set to say 15 or 30secs & hope that lightening occured whilst shutter was open?

Looking forward to your reprocess of all those images you took...

John

I used 5 seconds because I didn't want to catch more than one strike in a single image.  I took about 50 images but only 2 had a visible strike.  After that, the storm had passed over.

It was ISO 200 at F4.
