Hi All, here's a quick M31 I took last night before the clouds rolled in (in fact I need to re-stack this image, since I accidentally added a few cloudy ones in too)
Also in the process of rotating the imaging chamber to get a better framing (doesn't quite fit into the view of the 120ED, need to try it with the 80) the focus shifted a tiny bit so it's slighty out of focus.
Anyway, despite a few things which I should have sorted this is my first, "proper" andromeda galaxy ie, more than a couple of hastily taken shots unguided.

EDIT:-
I've just done a bit of re-processing, brought out a little more contrast and pushed up the green and blue a little, what do you prefer?

and that was from woolwich! :o
Which filters were you using?
nice image by the way.
Mac
Hi Mac, I was using the Astronomik CLS filter, was wondering actually, has anyone ever tried narrowband imaging with M31, I noticed I got a lot more of those nice brown dust lanes since getting the camera modded, so I wonder what some extra ha would do for it?
Very nice Daniel I think I prefer the second one, you might also want to look at that heavy gradient top right to bottom left
There are a fair few Ha targets in M31 and because of that a lot of imagers do that filter to. I'm not sure it makes sense for a colour sensor when it's not specifically an Ha object though.
Lovely image Daniel.
Version 2 looks much better
Carole
Excellant Daniel,. You should be well pleased
I prefer the 2nd
Amazed that you managed to get that from Woolwich!
I prefer the second image. You've got some very good detail there and the stars are very tight. Get another 12-20 subs and you'll have yourself a very fine image!
