Title: Moon 19 Dec 2007
Post by: MarkS on Dec 30, 2007, 20:26:03

It's taken a while to post this - I've been enjoying Christmas!

This was the moon on 19 Dec 2007 -  1/4 sec at ISO 100 with my Canon EOS300D and Celestron C11 combination on the EQ6 mount.  I had to use the mirror lockup to prevent vibrations ruining the image (the mirror lockup is a feature of the famous "Russian" hack I installed to the Camera's firmware).

Mark, what a lovely clear image. The Moon is something I want to get a few shots of soon.

Thanks Mike.  Thanks Fay.
I wanted to get a few more but, sadly, the weather has not been so good ...

Another brilliant image, Mark.  I only wish that I could do that, but I only have a small digital camera.  I`ll have to give it a go with my Minolta film camera (remember those?)

Mark, I owe you a big apology.  Viewing your image of the ISS, I was not using the mouse, but the finger pad on my laptop. I inadvertantly touched the pad and unfortunately rated your image with no stars, and I wanted to give it five stars.  I`m sorry about the cock-up and the only excuse I can offer if that I am still trying to "learn" the computer.  I will get better.  Sorry once again.

Doug - With a parfocal adaptor or a home-made widget like Tony B has made, you can easily get images comparable to Marks with the camera and scope that you have.
