I had a very bad start at Tuesnoad. I like to polar align while the sky is quite light as when at a location such as Tuesnoad, once it gets dark, there are so many stars it is hard to recognise which is which. I had a lot of trouble doing it, one of the reasons being, that the tripod was in the mud & I found it hard to manouvre to get into the correct position. I did also start M42 but the Canon battery ran out, as did my car battery & Mick, kindly lent me his earlier on.
As with the other two, this was taken with the Canon 350 D. I need to try Tony G's focal reducer on it, next time, as the edges can go a bit funny. Also I wished I had positioned the galaxy diagonally for better effect & then I could have cropped the edges.

Here is a smaller version, forgot it would be so big

Fay,
lovely images and hopefully now John has shown me the light so to say, i can move up to the next level and take some image other than the moon and planets.
The comet and M45 also have turned out great. Well done. :D

THanks Tony. I hope you put what you got at the weekend, on the forum. When I go outside again, I think Tuesday evening looks favourable, I am going to use your FR/flattener with the Canon. I had better hurry up as I think you will really be taking off with your imaging soon.
I have been practising processing tutorials most of the day. With Practical Astronomer, they do a tutorial every month & you can download the images they used & do it yourself together with the instructions in the mag.
Glad you all got home ok. Hopefully the weather will be a lot better next time.
Fay that's a nice image, do you have details of the exposure etc?
This is my favourite of your Tuesnoad images. It's beautiful.
Thankyou very much for your comments. Jim it was 6x300 secs. I put the details in the the gallery, but forgot on the forum.
Thanms Mark, that is very kind of you.
