New foot-and-mouth case suspected

Restrictions remain in place within zones around the affected farms
The UK's chief veterinary officer has told the BBC there is a suspected case of foot-and-mouth on a farm in Kent.
Debby Reynolds would not say exactly where the farm is, but said a control zone has been set up around it.

During an interview on camera, she said cattle had been tested and officials were now awaiting the results.

Dr Reynolds also said the case was similar to one on a farm in Dorking, Surrey, last week, where a suspected case turned out to be a false alarm.

A spokeswoman for Defra said a temporary control zone was in place around a farm in Kent as a precaution against foot-and-mouth disease.
