Title: Another go at Saturn
Post by: Whitters on Feb 03, 2003, 02:45:00
Had another go at Saturn after collimating the scope. Looks a lot better now. However I'm not sure I have got my image capture right, still seems rather grainy. Ian what max value you you aim for when taking your images, I hae been looking to half fill the wells with a value of Appx 160

looking good. have you applied any sharpening?

As far as exposure, I believe in setting the exposure as close to saturation as possible that way you waste as little dynamic range as possible.

I have just used the unsharp mask in Gimp. I haven't got the hang of the waves in registak.
