Hi All,
While my dad was out taking his picture of the Horsehead nebula a few days ago I set up my new digital camera on a tripod & took some 15 sec exposures of Orion (widefield). I stacked the images in DSS & processed it in PS. I'm pleased with my first image. You can see the colour of Betelgeuse and some nebulosity. There are also some faint trails from aeroplanes.

Wow, that is better than my one!!! You will have to give me some tips.

Looks pretty good to me Luke. What's your next target?
John, if it looks like he's getting too good, you'll have to 'accidentally' break something...
An arm would probably do the trick ;)
Hi Ian, Yes... I'll keep that in mind for the future.... At the moment it's actually quite nice having someone else out in the garden with me when I'm imaging - relieves the boredom & gives me someone to chat to..
Luke's very enthusiastic which is great.. he's even talking about doing a GCSE in Astronomy which will be great because he can teach me things as well then.. :-)
John
Sounds like a good reason to talk to Tony Sizer. I believe he teaches GCSE astronomy...
