Title: M42 - LRGB with SC3..
Post by: JohnP on Jan 22, 2007, 17:33:12
OK - Went out last night & had a go at LRGB on M42. Scope/ mount was playing up again so guiding was out.. Eventually managed to get some unguided frames. Hardest bit was figuring out how to combine it all etc. anyhow won't bore you with the details other than - SC3 on ZS66 + Astronomik RGB & CLS filters... Combination of various exposures..

M42 is a tough object because of wide range of brightness. Anyhow result is as follows: (not sure about colour balance so would appreciate comments)

Cheers,  John

.... OK I've had a 2nd go at processing - I tweaked the sharpness a bit on L layer then reduced green a little & did a noise reduction. New image is below original for comparison - The change is minor but I prefer newer version....
