Title: Canon EOS
Post by: Fay on Jan 21, 2007, 17:49:01
Hi, I have taken a sequence of images with my Canon 350D, & cannot get any program to open the images for processing.

I have not had this problem before & could open them in any program.

The icon on the images is a Maxim icon, although the program used was DSLR. Even Maxim will not open them. The files are RAW CR2 which is correct.

I have tried to put in another preferred program, like DSS, to open them but it does not make any difference.

The only difference on my laptop, I think, is Maxim, if that helps.

Hope someone can help.

Hi Fay, I just checked the raw file you sent me & it opens OK in DSS - Very nice it looks to. The problem isn't with the raw files it's something to do with file associations/ extensions (I think).

Cheers,  John

John,
I'm so glad you have opened the  file. How did you do it?

I could not open it in DSS.

John,

I have suddenly been able  to open the images in DSS. I tried for ages yesterday. I did reinstate a couple of Canon software items, perhaps that was it, although you could not open that image straight away. Perhaps the size of file delayed it.
